“So, what did you want to talk about?”  Gil asked, still sat in his chair.  You sat to face him in an adjacent chair.

“I thought about trying this for you, if you agree…  Seeing your want to come with us to town only increased my need to ask you…”  You start.  He looks at you expectantly, as does Elizabeta.

“Show me your wound.”  You say after a slight pause.  They both stare for a moment longer, before Elizabeta dries her hands and comes over, looking concerned, confused and thankful all at the same time.

“What?!”  Gil exclaims.  “Oh, come on.  Don’t tell me you don’t want to be healed.  It’s obvious that you do.  And it would be comforting later knowing you’ve got my back.”  You state, looking hopefully at him for permission.

He continues to look doubtful as Elizabeta grabs you by the shoulders.  “Are you sure you want to do this?”  She asks, evident in her voice that she would like you to - who would endure seeing the one they love dependent when there’s hope of recovery?

“Of course.”  You reply.  No doubt in your voice.

With that Gil says, “Okay, fix the awesome me!”  While lifting his shirt to reveal Kiku’s bandaging.  “Now, before I continue…  I want you to know that I’ve never attempted this before.”  You warn.

“You did it for West.”  Gil pointed out.  “Well…  Yeah, but…  I did that spontaneously…  When I woke up the next morning, I didn’t even know that I’d done it.”  You explain, “This time it will be deliberate.”

They glance at each other briefly.  “We believe in you.”  Elizabeta says, comforting your shoulder.

“Okay then.”  You say and take a deep breath.  Elizabeta helps you undo the bandaging to reveal a scabby, but still partially open wound, earning a small wince from Gil.

“I’m also not sure how much this will hurt.”  You warn again, glancing at them both, mainly Gil.  He nods you to proceed.

You rub your hands together so that they’re warm.  Then you extend out your hands to hover your fingers over Gil’s wound.  As gently as you can, you lower your fingers to touch his damaged skin, thinking only of how you want to heal him.

He winces sharply, and you pull your hands away quickly.  “Scheiße!  It stings!”  He yelped, frowning his face to hold in the pain.

The whole wound starts to flicker (eye/c).  Slowly the bullet that was buried deep inside Gil’s abdomen starts to be teased out.  After several seconds the bullet is free of Gil’s skin and hovers there a moment.  You extend your hand and catch the clean bullet, still watching Gil’s wound as the glowing intensified.  Moments later, Gil’s skin is woven together by (eye/c) ribbons of fire.  Upon completion the glow disperses and fades.  Just as the ‘embers’ die away Gil yells out, “Aaaahhhr!”

“Sorry.”  You apologise, inhaling sharply.  You all stare for a while at Gil’s slightly red, but mended skin.  “What’s going on?”  You hear Ludwig call from the stairs as his footsteps near the ground floor.  He must’ve heard Gil yell out.

You stand to go and explain to Ludwig what all the shouting was about.  Before you could leave though, Gil jumps up and almost crushes you with the strength of his hug.  “Danke, _____.”  He whispers in your ear, holding back tears.  “Oh Gil, that’s okay.”  You say comfortingly, as Ludwig swings round the door frame into the kitchen.

You couldn’t see Ludwig, for Gil’s shoulder, but you could hear him.  He stops around where Elizabeta was sitting - which was on the other chair next to Gil’s.  You hear her explain what you’d done, and then light, skippy steps towards you.  She briefly hugs the both of you from the side and then they let you go.

They smile at you and you place the bullet in Gils hand.  You walk over to Ludwig as they then hug.  His expression was one of surprise and you giggle silently.  He then pulls you into a hug, almost as tightly as Gil’s had been and says, “What would we do without you?”

“Ohonhonhonhonhonhonhon.”  You hear from the doorway and you break your hug.  Of course, it was Francis and his perverted laughter, along with several others.  Arthur elbows Francis to shut him up, “So what was going on?”  He asked.

“I think I’ll go now.”  You say and hurry through the crowd and out the door.  At the back you see Feli and ask him, “Hey, have you seen Lovi about?”

“A-Yes,” he replied, “he’s just got out the shower.  I’ll take you to our room.”  And bounces off up the stairs.  You follow him to the top floor, to the room above Alfred’s.

Feli says, “Wait out here a moment.”  And slips through the door, closing it behind him.  You here Lovi yelling at Feli for just waltzing in while he was getting dressed and Feli explaining that you were waiting outside.

You hear Feli bound back across the room and open the door.  “Okay, he’s dressed now.”  Feli says with a smile, before virtually pushing you over to Lovi, who was sitting on the bed.  Lovi stared at you for a moment, wondering what on earth you wanted him for.

“Erm…  How’s your arm?”  You ask him.  “Fine.”  He says, though it was still in bandage and it would be a while before he could use it fully again.

“The others will probably be looking for me soon…  Especially Arthur.  So…  [sigh] would you like me to try to mend your arm?”  You ask, trying to find the right words.  They both stare in amazement.  Neither of them knew what you’d done for Gil.

“You’d do that for me?”  Lovi asked, stunned.  “Of course.”   You state, “I may not know you well, but I know that having a broken arm isn’t on your list of things you like.”  At this point you could hear the others looking for you downstairs.

“Not that I want to rush you, but I’d much rather not have everyone else staring at me do this for you.  So, please say quickly if you want to go ahead…  Though I’ve got a strong feeling that it’s going to hurt a little.”  You tell Lovi.

“Okay…”  Lovi permits, still a little taken aback, whilst starting to unravel his bandaging.  You help, as gently as you can.  “Ready?”  You ask when his arm is free from bandaging and resting on his leg.

“Okay, here goes.”  You whisper, forming a ring around his arm with your hands, near his elbow.  You gently close the ring, so that your hands touch his skin gently and glide your hands from his elbow to his wrist, maintaining delicate contact with his skin.

About two thirds of the way along his arm he winces, presumably the location of the break.  You pull your fingers into contact with Lovi’s and leave them there so that he has a hand to hold.  Only a moment later, the bones in Lovi’s arm start to shimmer (eye/c), clearly visible through his skin and illuminating the blood vessels and tissue in his arm.

At this, Feli grabs your shoulder.  With your free hand, you reach up to comfort Feli’s hand too.  It was Toni who found you first, and called to the others; this was before he noticed Lovi’s arm.  The others arrived at the door just as the break in Lovi’s arm starts to pulsate and shine brightly.

Then, Lovi’s fingers tightened around yours and he yelled as the break was visibly sewn together.  When it was done, a beam of (eye/c) light passed out in each direction from the break and faded as it reached the ends of the bone - also making Lovi gasp.

Everyone was silent as Lovi examined his mended arm with his free arm.  Feli’s hand fell from your shoulder in amazement, staring at Lovi’s arm.  Lovi suddenly, and uncharacteristically, leaned forward and hugged you, promptly joined by Feli from the side.

“Grazie!”  Lovi thanks.  You chuckle and reply, “You’re welcome, Lovi.”  After releasing you from the hug, you see him smile for the first time.  You were already smiling, but the Italian’s face, now so altered from its normal frown, caused such warmth in you that you couldn’t help but smile even more!  He even let Feli and Toni hug him, though he’d stopped smiling by this point.
